We’re excited to enhance your wellbeing with new Better Rewards offerings, including a standalone vision plan, peri/menopause care support and virtual physical therapy programs.

Some plans will see a modest premium increase, complemented by enhancements to better meet your family’s healthcare needs.

  • All BCBS of MA medical plans will…

    • Incur a modest increase in premiums
    • Vision coverage is being transitioned from BCBSMA to a standalone program with EyeMed
    • New peri/menopause support program offered through Progyny

    CDHP with HSA Plan

    • There will be an increase to the in-network deductible from $1,500 (employee) / $3,000 (family) to $1,600/$3,200 in order to maintain HSA eligibility (per the IRS)
    • The in-network Out-of-Pocket Maximum will also increase from $3,000 (employee) / $6,000 (family) to $3,200/$6,400

    PPO Plan

    • There will be no changes to deductibles, coinsurance and copays

    PPO Plus Plan

    • There will be no changes to deductibles, coinsurance and copays
  • Each year the IRS sets the annual maximum allowed for pre-tax savings plans.

    Health Savings Account (HSA) – when enrolled in the Consumer Driven Health Plan

    • The maximum contribution is increasing to $4,150 for employee only coverage and $8,300 for family coverage.
    • Hologic is increasing its HSA contributions from $600 (employee) and $1,200 (family) to $700/$1,400 when enrolled in the CDHP plan the entire plan year.

    Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

    • The Health Care FSA contribution maximum is increasing to $3,200.
    • The Dependent Care FSA contribution maximum is remaining at $5,000.
  • All medical and dental plans will incur a modest premium increase as follows. Hologic will continue to absorb a large portion of the increase in costs to lessen the impact to you.

    • CDHP with HSA Plan will incur a 4% increase
    • PPO Plan will incur a 5% increase
    • PPO Plus Plan will incur a 5.5% increase
    • Dental Core & Enhanced plans will incur a 4.4% increase
    • Vision – NEW with EyeMed will have a separate premium

  • Vision Coverage

    Our new standalone EyeMed vision plan is at an affordable premium and offers these benefits.

    • Comprehensive eye care coverage
    • Ease of access to providers throughout the U.S.
    • Benefits for exams and eyewear to maintain perfect vision

    You are eligible for this benefit even if you are not enrolled in a BCBSMA plan. You must enroll to have coverage.

    Virtual Physical Therapy

    Use Sword Health’s virtual physical therapy to ease and prevent back, joint and muscle pain from wherever you are. Your custom plan:

    • is guided by a physical therapist
